Join Slow Food enthusiasts at Eataly Boston and eat-shop-learn with a local twist!
Take a guided tour of Eataly’s market led by a senior staff member. You will meet everyone from the butcher and the baker to the cheesemaker. Taste traditional Italian foods made fresh in-house using local ingredients alongside specialty foods from New England vendors. *(limited to first 15 guests)
Learn about how native New England grains are making a comeback in restaurant and home kitchens, where to find them, and how to mill flour at home from Maria Speck award-winning cookbook author of Simply Ancient Grains (2016 M.F.K. Fisher Award for Excellence in Culinary Writing), and Ancient Grains for Modern Meals (2012 IACP Julia Child Cookbook Award).
We'll assemble knowledge and ingredients- delving into the art of dry vs. fresh pasta with Eataly pastai (pasta-makers) and Melrose-born Seven Hills Pasta Co, learning the story behind traditional shapes and how to make your own at home.
